MEDIA LIBRARY
TEACHING MATERIALS IN FRENCH
The Alliance Française Media Library in Genoa offers up-to-date materials and a variety of resources to anyone who wants to discover or improve their knowledge of the French language and culture.
This service should be considered primarily as an active tool to support enrolled students in learning French (with specific teaching materials such as books accompanied by audio cassettes or CDs, films with subtitles, etc.), but it does not exclude other types of needs and, above all, the simple pleasure of being able to read the latest novels published in France or watch a film in the original language.
- Approximately 18,000 paper documents covering all aspects of contemporary French culture: literature, philosophy, history, art, religious sciences, sociology and sciences and techniques
- Audiobooks, CDs and DVDs (over 500 titles including films and documentaries)
- A "Bibliothèque de l'Apprenant" that groups together documents selected according to different levels of knowledge of the French language: books, audiobooks, comics, DVDs, CDs... but also educational documents, grammar books, manuals for teaching the French language.
- A space dedicated to children and teenagers with a wide selection of albums, magazines, books, comics and DVDs
BOOK CLUB
The club meets once or twice a month on Thursday afternoons to choose and read a book, discuss it, read excerpts, and exchange opinions and reflections before seeing its film adaptation.
The initiative is free and reserved for members of the Alliance française of Genoa.

It consists of a myriad of books, novels, essays, comics, newspapers, magazines, CDs, concerts, conferences, online courses, games (more or less serious), videos... for all generations and all tastes!
Culturethèque is accessible by computer, tablet or smartphone.
Culturethèque completes the offering of French media libraries in Italy.
The platform is accessible to anyone registered with one of the libraries of the French cultural network in Italy.

After that, simply contact the Alliance française to extend this service for the duration of your membership card if you already have one or to join the association.
BILINGUAL READINGS
As part of the Media Library's activities, the Alliance française is organizing readings in French and Italian for some fourth-grade classes at the Pegli Comprehensive Institute.
The aim of these readings is to:
- to raise children's awareness, through reading and listening, of the knowledge of other languages and their diversity
- discover, among linguistic diversity, the existence of other cultures, given that reading represents a privileged context for the transmission of cultural values different from ours
- to enhance the importance of acquiring knowledge of other languages in the future, as a means of exchange between cultures
- To introduce children to the heritage of French children's books through stories selected for their educational quality.
After reading aloud (often the children's reading for the Italian part), the children carried out educational activities to introduce them to the French language with great care and commitment.
